Reopen Sonamarg for visitors: Mian Altaf

Srinagar, Feb 17 (KNS) : Senior National conference leader and former MLA Kangan Mian Altaf Ahmed has urged the administration to throw open health resort Sonamarg in view of the good tourist arrivals here.

In a statement issued To kashmir news service, Mian Altaf said that the hoteliers, traders and people associated with the tourism here have already suffered huge losses and now as the tourists have started arriving in Kashmir the closure of the Sonamarg will give further setback to the tourist season here.

He said that most of the local population is dependent on the tourism at Sonamarg and if sonamarg is open it will become a source of income for them to earn their livelihood.

Mian Altaf said that the authorities should reopen the sonamarg road and ensure basic facilities including electricity,  water supply and mobile communication system for the convenience of the visitors. (KNS)
