Srinagar, Oct 21 (KNS): Scores of casual labours of various departments attempted to march towards Governor's Office from Sheri-Kashmir Park Srinagar and were stoped by huge contingent police from marching towards Governor's Office and several protesters were detained by police.

According to reports these Casual labours of departments under the banner of Jammu Kashmir Casual Daily wagers Forum, had assembled today at Sheri -Kashmir Park and were raising slogans, " we want Justice and regularize our services.

They were accompanied by EJAC Leader Sajad Ahmad Parray.

Talking to reporters Parray said that these casual labourers are working since decades in different departments and are doing their duties regularly.

He also said that their plan was to Raj Bhawan Gheroa but Police was deployed outside the Sheri-Kashmir Park, we tried to come out of the park and police lathi charged us resulting in injuries of various casual labourers.

He further said that JKCDWF has decided ro go on 48 hour strike on 26 oct and it will cause inconvenience to common masses but we are compelled to go for strike because our families are suffering, how can we run and feed our families on these minimum wages", said Sajad Ahmad Parray .

They have further appealed LG led administration to resolve the issue of casual labours at earliest (KNS)
