Poacher apprehended along with firearms in Bemina Srinagar

 
Srinagar, Mar 07 (KNS): Forest protection force along with central wildlife control room on Monday claimed to have apprehended a poacher and also seized fire arms from him in Bemina area of Srinagar. 
 
In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that on a specific information, Forest Protection Force Gamma unit (K-01) Srinagar along with Central Wildlife control room officials raided sector 12/14 Khumani chowk area of Bemina today on early morning. 
 
“During the raid one person namely Fayaz Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohmmad Sultan Bhat R/o Bemina, Mohalla Kamal Bhat Khumani Chowk was found shooting at migratory birds,” reads the statement.
 
It reads that he was apprehended by the party along with single barrel bore gun, three live cartridges and a knife.
 
“Application for FIR against the apprehended person has been lodged in police Station Bemina and investigations have been taken up under Wildlife Protection Act,” it reads. (KNS)
