PHAAK Development Forum seeks adequate compensation for hailstorm affected people at Dara Harwan and adjoining areas

Srinagar May 06:(KNS)  PHAAK Development Forum sought adequate compensation for the hailstorm affected farmers in Dara Harwan saying the gravity of losses incurred by horticulturalists merit the immediate attention of the LG Administration.

 
According to a statement issued while expressing deep concern over the massive destruction caused to the standing crops, Spokesman PHAAK Development Forum stated that due to the heavy hailstorm Apple , strawberry ,cherry and other crops have incurred heavy demage at Dara,Fakir Gujree and adjoining areas. He said that the heavy hailstorm has played havoc with the fruit and food grain production, affecting badly the livelihood of hundreds of farmers who he said need to be compensated adequately for their sustenance. 
The severe weather condition that lasted for an hour played havoc with standing crops particularly Apple, cherry and strawberry . The weather vagary has has significantly caused fatal trauma to people and if proper compensation is not provided immediately it's going to cause serious mental health issues with the affected horticulturists.
 
The district and divisional administration should immediately come to the rescue of affected and rush revenue teams to the affected hamlet to access the losses incurred by people especially the so that a proper compensation is worked out at an earliest and distributed among affected forthwith.
 
The FORUM also urged the horticulture experts to guide the farming community in this need of the hour. (KNS)
