Peoples Conference will emerge to become the strongest voice of the people of J&K: Vakil

Srinagar Aug 27 (KNS):  J&K Peoples Conference senior Vice President and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today said that Peoples Conference will emerge to become the strongest voice of the people of J&K. "People of J&K have been trapped in the post August 5, 2019 situation. The PC will stand up for them in our united quest to retrieve back that is rightfully ours." Vakil was addressing workers' convention at Krishan-Bal Eidgah which was presided over by Sr. PC Leader Irfan Matoo and Delina in Baramaullah, which was presided by Asif Lone Sr. PC leader and District President Baramulla.

While addressing the gathering Vakil added that the current LG administration has failed to do justice to the aspirations of the common masses of J&K and that there is an urgent need to restore democracy in J&K. J&K have been denied their constitutional right to elect a popular government to run the state of affairs. J&K has been under the Central rule for 4 years now and apprehensions are growing in the minds of the people that GoI is not serious in holding assembly elections as early as possible and are therefore disallowing the people to choose their own representatives. It is utter shame that in a great democracy, a region has been denied its right to choose their own government while the administration has been outsourced to bureaucrats brought in from different states and installed in Jammu and Kashmir, Vakil said.
PC leaders pointed out that the Governor led bureaucratic adminstration has failed at all levels whether it’s on development front or on the security front. “There is no sense of security. Innocent people are being killed and people at large feel unsafe" was the cry of all leaders. In addition, instead of giving employment, those already employed are being terminated while as competitive exams have lost their credibility which is clear by the recent scrapping of SI posts in Police and the alleged ambiguity and scam involving the posts of Finance Accounts Assistant.
Addressing the convention Senior PC leader, and former MLC Khursheed Alam assured people that PC will leave no stone unturned in restoring Art 370 and will fight for the same constitutionally and democratically. Art 370 was working as a bridge between J&K and other parts of the country and was an important tool for J&K to come closer to the mainstream.
Addressing the convention, Senior PC leader Raja Ajaz Khan alleged that the LT Governer lead administration has failed have failed on all front's and there is need to restore democracy in J&K
Senior leader Mohammad Sulaiman Bhat, also demanded immediate regularisation of 60000 daily wagers and Aganwadi workers and helpers who are protesting since long on the streets but unfortunately, nobody pays heed. This all is repulsed through brute force.(KNS)
