Srinagar, Jan 10 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Monday highlighted the need for the regularization of the PDD casual laborers and daily wagers, terming their resolve for duties laudable and courageous.

Kadfeen in a statement has said that recently when Kashmir valley was wrapped under the thick blanket of snow, throwing life out of the gear, the PDD daily wagers negotiated the rough patches and displayed an indomitable will to restore electricity in the affected areas. However, these unsung heroes are victimized by the government in spite of their supreme sacrifices.

Kadfeen added that Government’s indifferent attitude towards their regularization is misplaced and merits concern. He highlighted that the need for immediate measures needed to be taken to regularize the services of these PDD workers and provide them benefits at par with the permanent employees. “Otherwise, this is going to be a grave injustice with them. How long will they continue to suffer? There must be the adoption of a humane approach and that is the only way out,” said Kadfeen said. (KNS)
