Budgam, Oct 18 (KNS) : The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force (PCCF/HoFF), Jammu & Kashmir UT, Shri S.K. Gupta, IFS, conducted an extensive field visit to the Pir Panjal Forest Division on 18th October 2025 to assess the implementation of works under CAMPA and S&D in the Doodganga Range.
Upon his arrival at Nilnag, S.K. Gupta was received with a ceremonial Guard of Honour by personnel of the Forest Protection Force (FPF).
During the inspection, the PCCF/HoFF reviewed various developmental, plantation, and conservation initiatives being undertaken across the Division. He emphasized the importance of completing all activities within stipulated timelines while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Commending the sincere efforts of the frontline staff, he encouraged them to continue contributing diligently towards the department’s green mission.
Marking the occasion S.K Gupta planted a conifer sapling at Nilnag under the banner of “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, symbolizing the department’s continued commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement in plantation drives.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He also unveiled an informative pamphlet on Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP), highlighting the Division’s significant strides in sustainable resource management and the promotion of livelihood opportunities for forest-dependent communities.
The PCCF/HoFF was accompanied by Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Shri Irfan Rasool Wani, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Pir Panjal, Deputy Director Forest Protection Force K-03, Divisional Manager Forest Development Corporation (FDC) Budgam, Range Officers, and Assistant Directors of the department.
The visit concluded with an interactive session with field officials, where S.K. Gupta commended their dedication to forest protection and urged them to strengthen community-based forestry initiatives and ecological restoration efforts.(KNS)
