Baramulla, Oct 16 (KNS): The residents of North Kashmir’s Tangmarg have expressed concern over growing pollution from stone crushers and macadam plants.

Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that the continuous operation of stone crushers and macadam plants has caused health concerns among surrounding residents.

The thick clouds of dust and emissions from these plants have blanketed the surroundings, affecting both the environment and livelihoods. “Our orchards are losing their shine, crops are covered in layers of dust, and production has fallen drastically,” said a local orchardist.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“We have several times complained that the units often flout environmental guidelines and work late into the night, causing unbearable noise and air pollution, but the administration is not paying any attention,” he said.

Locals also appealed to the Pollution Control Committee and the district administration of Baramulla to conduct on-ground inspections and take decisive measures. (KNS)
