Pakistan Uses Civilian Flights as Cover for Drone Attacks: Government

New Delhi, May 9 (KNS): Pakistan did not close its airspace on Thursday and allowed civilian flights to operate while secretly launching Turkish-made drones at multiple targets in India, the Indian government said during a briefing today.

According to officials, Pakistan used civilian aircraft in its airspace as a shield while sending 300-400 drones toward civilian buildings, military sites, and religious places across northern India.

India's air defence system successfully intercepted the drones, preventing major damage.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

However, heavy shelling from Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district struck the home of two convent school students, killing them.

"Targeting temples, gurdwaras, and convents marks a dangerous new low," said Foreign Secretary Vikram Misry in New Delhi.

Civilian flights were still visible over Pakistan on flight-tracking websites even on Friday evening, while no Indian aircraft were seen in the skies. (KNS)
