Srinagar, Dec 08 (KNS): Senior Apni Party leader, Rafi Ahmad Mir on Wednesday said that they don’t want to work with the PAGD as they do not have a roadmap to back the special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to media persons here, Mir said that the PAGD is just fighting for the power and it lacks a future strategy but Apni Party possesses the strategy, which is why they have different roadmaps for restoring the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that Apni party has come into existence before the PAGD and it strongly agrees that the decisions of August 5 were unconstitutional.

“If PAGD has trust on Apni party, then they should come forward to us and talk with us. Apni party doesn’t play politics for gaining power. We sincerely want to bring back the special status of J&K and will always press for those issues. We are not against PAGD and if they can bring back the article 370 then we will support them,” he said.

Mir said that Article 370 can only be restored in the Parliament or the Supreme Court. “The NC MP’s played no role in the parliament to save the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. So, we don’t think that they will do something in future also.”

He also said that in the party meeting Apni party has passed some resolutions in order to put forward the issues faced by the common people.

He said that Apni party is demanding restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir before elections and also hopes that fair selection of seats will be carried out by the delimitation commission.

He also appealed to the authorities to reopen Jamia Masjid Srinagar for Friday prayers as religious gatherings would not in any way disrupt peace in the Valley. (KNS)
