Srinagar, Oct 19 (KNS): More than 97,500 students are appearing for the Class 10 annual examinations across Jammu and Kashmir, with around 1,003 examination centres established across the Union Territory, JKBOSE Secretary Sheikh Ghulam Hassan said on Monday.

Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Hassan said the examination centres have been set up across the 10 districts of the Kashmir Valley, seven districts of the Jammu division, and the twin districts of Leh and Kargil.

He said students were appearing for the examinations in a positive atmosphere and expressed hope that they would perform well.

JKBOSE secretary Hassan said the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) had made special arrangements for Children with Special Needs (CWSN), including a dedicated examination centre at the board office.

Such candidates are provided a relaxation of five marks in the passing criteria, 20 minutes of additional time and scribes, depending on the nature of their disabilities, he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The secretary said the board was committed to ensuring that students with special needs could pursue their academic goals without facing unnecessary difficulties.

He said decisions regarding examination arrangements and reforms were taken collectively after consultations with officers, joint secretaries and deputy secretaries to ensure the smooth conduct of examinations.

“Our effort is to ensure that stakeholders, especially students, do not face any problems and can continue their academic journey,” Hassan said.
