Nizamuddin Bhat appeals for withdrawing of laws envisaging eviction of state land

Bandipora, Jan 18 (KNS): Former legislator and senior PC leader Nizamuddin Bhat has appealed the Union government and Jammu and Kashir Lt Governor to withdraw laws envisaging eviction of state land.

Bhat in a statement said any welfare state facilitates its citizens to avail the right to live a comfortable and dignified life through state support.
"It was in tune with this guarantee that residents of J&K were allowed to possess and use state land for purposes of shelter, farming and livelihood."

He said now that government of the day has decided to cancel such rights over state land, poorer people, tenants and citizens having no proprietary land are bound to suffer immensely.

Bhat said it is against principles of justice that poor people who have invested on such land only to live and sustain will be exposed to hardships along with their families.

Bhat hoped that both governments will take into account circumstances obtaining in J&K and miseries of the poor to withdraw laws that tantamount to depriving present possessors and owners from having any shelter or source to sustain live.(KNS)
