NC, PDP Call BJP Impure for Kashmir’s, Yet Meet Their Leaders in Delhi: LoP Sunil Sharma

Srinagar, Oct 24 (KNS): Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma on Friday said that the political parties in Jammu and Kashmir have maintained double standards in their approach towards the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of misleading people while maintaining cordial ties with central leaders in private.

Talking to media as per KNS correspondent, Sharma said that PDP and NC leaders regularly meet BJP leaders in Delhi and share meals with them call association with the BJP “impure” when it involves ordinary Kashmir’s, he said.

He said that leaders of both political families whether from the National Conference or the Peoples Democratic Party have often interacted with BJP leaders including Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Narendra Modi.

He said these interactions contradict their public stance against the BJP and expose a pattern of selective politics.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“When they sit with BJP leaders in Delhi for tea or lunch, it is acceptable, but when a poor Kashmiri associates with the BJP, it suddenly becomes impure,” Sharma said.

This attitude has divided people and created unnecessary hostility between communities. He said political competition should not turn into hatred and called for honesty in public discourse, Sunil said.

He questioned their commitment to transparency, alleging that they act together to keep their own actions away from public scrutiny. “They fear the truth and work to prevent it from reaching people,” he said, referring to recent statements by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, which he said attempt to create a false narrative against individuals linked to the BJP for political gain, he added.(KNS)
