Srinagar, October 24 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Awami Ittehad Party's lone MLA, Sheikh Khursheed, announced his support for the ruling party to keep the BJP out.
Talking to the media as per KNS correspondent, he said his party will vote for National Conference (NC) candidates to keep the BJP out. "We have decided to vote against the BJP and in favour of the NC candidates to keep the BJP out," he said.
He said many political differences with the NC but said the party is compelled to support the ruling party. "We submitted several resolutions and bills in the last Assembly session and in this session, but they were not accepted," he said.
Given the present situation, we are compelled to vote for the NC to keep the BJP out, he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"We are not voting for the NC because we love them, but only to keep the BJP away," he said.
"It is obvious that we have to vote for the NC candidates to ensure the defeat of the BJP candidates," Khursheed said.
"We are not concerned with the NC's loss. Our aim is to keep the BJP away, and we want the party to lose the fourth seat as well," he added.
Independent MLA Shahir Ahmad Kullay said his decision to vote in favour of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) in the Rajya Sabha elections was aimed solely at keeping the BJP out. He said there was no other viable option under the current circumstances and added that the PDP should refrain from political bargaining during times of crisis.(KNS).
