Narcotics smuggler held along with 350 gms of Narcotics in Kupwara: Police

Kupwara April 21:(KNS)   In its continuous fight against drug smuggling and adding in the district, Kupwara Police has arrested a narcotics smuggler from Karnah area of the district.

 
According to a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Yesterday late in the evening , a specific information was received by Police Station Karnah that a narcotic smuggler namely Anzar Ahmad Pathan son of Mohd Abdullah Pathan resident of Bhaderkote Karnah has managed to obtain a consignment of narcotics from across the LoC to be smuggled to Valley. 
 
Based on the information, cognisance of the matter was taken and FIR No.30/2022 under sections 8/21 NDPS Act  was registered at Police Station Karnah . Accordingly the suspect was taken into custody and put under sustained questioning. During the course of questioning in the investigations of the case, the accused disclosed that he has hidden the narcotics consignment near a bridge named Gundi-Shart in Bhaderkote area of Karnah . Upon the disclosure of the accused, a team of Police led by SHO Karnah Mudasir Ahmed accompanied by local Executive Magistrate seized the narcotics weighing 350 gms from the spot identified by the accused. 
 
Further investigations to unearth the module involved in the case are being carried.(KNS)
