Ban on historical Muharram processions unacceptable: Aga

Srinagar, Oct 11 (KNS): Muharram meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian district Srinagar headed by President Aga Syed Hassan Almosavi Alsafvi at Khanqah-e-Mir Shams-ud-din Araqi (r.a) Zadibal. The session was attended by all members and delegates of district Srinagar.
Session discussed the issues related to issues of Muharram in district Srinagar which being held under the banner of J&K Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian. It was decided in the meeting that Muharram procession in Srinagar will be carried out from their ancient routes and concluded at their same specific locations.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Session described the ban on 8th Muharram and Ashura procession unacceptable and said that scores of processions being taken out from different parts of valley and why government worries about the historical Lal chowk procession.
Session demanded government to lift the ban on 8th Muharram and Ashura procession in Srinagar and observe that there would be no problem in law and order. The session was addressed by Aga Syed Hassan Almosavi Alsafvi and all district presidents and secretaries of Srinagar. (KNS)
