Srinagar, Jan 24 (KNS): AIP supremo and MLA Langate Er Rasheed has strongly rejected M J Akbar’s statement claiming that Kashmir is an inalienable part of India and giving up Kashmir means surrendering Indian Muslim’s rights.
In a statement to KNS, while interacting with various deputations at party headquarter today he said that Akbar’s statement is far away from reality.
He said. “Kashmiris have not been seeking solution to the dispute on religious basis but are demanding right to plebiscite as promised by United Nations. Being a knowledgeable journalist he knows better that Kashmiris are not responsible for two nation theory and Jammu and Kashmir was a free sovereign country while people of sub-continent were fighting Britishers.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
In fact J&K lost its freedom at the hands of India and Pakistan when these countries gained independence. The elite class of Indian Muslims have always downplayed the sufferings of Muslims of J&K.
Rights of Kashmiri Muslims cannot be kept hostage to such excuses.” Er Rasheed added. “MJ Akbar’s statement itself indicates the level of insecurity among Indian Muslims, which they can’t even express. Can Akbar deny that from Bollywood actors to beef eaters people are being abused and humiliated only because being Muslims.” Unless people like Akbar don’t raise their voice and feel the pain of Muslims in J&K, they have no right to add salt to our injuries.
