Srinagar Jan 27:(KNS)  The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir has expressed deep concern over the hardships confronting people on account of erratic supply of electricity, snow clearance and supply of essentials.

Mir also lashed out at PDD, urging it to stop forcing consumers to pay higher rates for the electricity, which they are not being provided.

During five-day tour of Dooru Shabad, JKPCC President G.A. Mir took stock of the ground situation in Larkipora, Shahbad Bala, Hiller Shahbad, Dooru and Veerinag Town and expressed anguish over the difficulties confronting people due to the current harsh winter, besides the lack of basic facilities, which are not available to people even after witnessing heavy snowfall.

Mir said the erratic supply of electricity, lack of road connectivity and unsatisfactory snow clearance are more distressing to people, still many important roads leading to upper reaches and plains are yet to be cleared, causing  pubic movement  very difficult and urged the Govt to seek detailed report from the field agencies with regard to snow clearance, supply of essentials and electricity to ensure that immediate problems concerning people are addressed, at right earnest.

Mir also lashed out at  PDD department for serving electric bills to consumers on higher rates , whileas the supply of electricity is still  erratic, despite that people are being forced to pay bills on higher rates, which they have not consumed, besides the denial on the part of PDD on this count is more  worrying, a matter of serious concern, G.A. Mir said.

Mir urged the Govt to put a proper system in place, so that the people are not harassed or forced to pay bills on rate bills that too without being provided the required supply of electricity.

Serving electric bills on higher rates not only in Dooru, but in other areas, as reported, need to be stopped and adequate supply of electricity must be ensured, G.A. Mir added.

I would  emphasize the Govt to ensure comprehensive snow clearance, adequate supply of electricity and  essentials, besides ensuring that consumers are not served bills on higher rates,  which has no justification, G.A. Mir lamented. (KNS)
