IHPL in Crisis: League Abruptly Ends Amid Unpaid Bills and Vanishing Management

Srinagar, Nov 2 (KNS) The Indian Heaven Premier League (IHPL) has come to an abrupt halt after reports surfaced of unpaid dues and missing management officials.

Mel Juniper, a coach with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and an umpire in the IHPL, confirmed the situation while speaking to the media here in Srinagar as per KNS correspondent.

“The league has had to finish early. This has been down to no fault of the players or the hotel management or any of the staff. It’s all been down to the league,” Juniper said.

According to Juniper, the hotel housing players and staff was ordered to lock its doors earlier in the day due to unpaid bills. “Hotels haven’t been paid. Staff haven’t been paid. The league instructed the hotel to lock all doors and keep everyone inside until payments are made,” he added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

More than 40 players, both local and international, were stranded before an agreement was reached to allow them to return home. “It’s not fair on the players being away from their homes and families for this long without pay,” Juniper explained.

League management has reportedly gone silent, with calls and messages unanswered. “League management is nowhere to be seen. It’s just us on the ground floor trying to find a way out,” Juniper said.

When asked about pending payments, Juniper confirmed that “no one has made the rest of the payment” and that a few officials are staying back until the dues are cleared.

The situation raises serious questions about the financial stability and governance of the IHPL, a league that had promised to bring fresh energy to franchise cricket.(KNS)
