Srinagar, July 20 (KNS): Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai informed the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday that there has been a substantial decline in militant attacks in Jammu and Kashmir since 2018.
In a written reply to a query, he said that the government has a policy of zero tolerance against militancy and the security situation has improved significantly in J&K.
He said the incidents of militant attacks also decreased significantly since 2018 with 229 militant attacks reported in 2021, 244 in 2020, 255 in 2019, and 417 in 2018.
In these attacks, he said, a total of 42 security forces personnel were killed in 2021, 62 in 2020, 80 in 2019 and 91 in 2018. (KNS)
