Bandipora, Apr 06 (KNS): Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Thursday said that militancy in Jammu and Kashmir is on a declining mode and efforts are on from police and other security agencies to neutralize the last militant in the region.
“Though militancy has not fully finished in the UT but their graph has shown a massive decline. The J&K Police in tandem with other security agencies are alert to neutralize the remaining rather last militant in the UT,” DGP Dilbagh Singh as per KNS said while talking to reporters on the sidelines of an event held in north Kashmir’s Sonawari Bandipora.
He commended the youth of J&K for contributing in peace and nation building and said, “The youth who would fall prey to the false propaganda from across the borders has come to know their nefarious plans and have started in contributing in peace and nation building”.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
To a query the DGP said that police have achieved a huge success in foiling the designs of enemies who use to drop arms, weapons, narcotics and cash through drones. He said the forces are alert and are foiling such designs day in and day out.
“We have seized huge cache of weapons, money and narcotics and such bids are continuously being foiled. Those involved in supplying drugs to other parts of UT and even Punjab are being tracked down,” DGP said.
When asked whether Eid-ul-Fitr prayers will be allowed at Eidgah Srinagar this year the DGP said that it depends on the Divisional Administration who has to take a call on it. “As of now there is no law and order situation in Srinagar and elsewhere. However final call on holding Eid prayers at Eidgah Srinagar will be taken by Divisional administration soon”, he said. (KNS)
