The duo had been taken into “preventive” custody on August 5, 2019 when New Delhi abrogated special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and 35(A), however after 11-months of confinement, the PSA against the leaders were revoked and were released on June this year.
According to reports, the duo has been initially shifted to Police Station Bijbehara.
Meanwhile PDP president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti termed the detention of party leaders as “lawlessness” .
“Total lawlessness as PDPs Sartaj Madni & Mansoor Hussain have been arbitrarily detained today on the eve of DDC election results. Every senior police officer here is clueless as it is ‘upar say order’. No rule of law in J&K anymore. It is out & out Gunda Raj,” Mehbooba Mufti said in a tweet. (KNS)
