Srinagar July 12 (KNS): On the 16th of Muharram, the All J&K Shia Association (AJKSA) organised a Majlis-e-Aza and Zuljanah Sharief procession in Shalimar, which was attended by a large number of mourners from Srinagar and nearby areas.
The day’s programme began at Bagh-e-Zainab, Shalimar, with the recitation of Marsiya at around 11:00 AM, followed by Jama’at Salah. After the prayers, Marsiya continued at the residence of Ali Khan followed by the Zuljanah procession, which concluded back at Bagh-e-Zainab.
President of the All J&K Shia Association led the main Majlis-e-Imam Hussain (AS). He spoke in detail about the Ayat-e-Mubahila from the Holy Qur’an, recalling the moment when the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stood with Hazrat Ali (AS), Hazrat Fatima (SA), Imam Hasan (AS), and Imam Hussain (AS) before the Christians of Najran. He said, “The presence of Imam Hussain (AS) in that event shows his unique place in Islam, even as a child.
