Jammu, Dec 26 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today thanked the people of J&K for their participation in DDC elections.
He also said that "recently, three-tier grassroot democracy was established in J&K with DDC elections. I thank the people of J&K for their participation in the elections. The elected DDC members will take oath on 28th December," he said during the launch of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY Sehat scheme- a health cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per year on floater basis for all families of J&K. The launch was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and advisors of LG besides other officials of J&K.
He also said that no one would have imagined that violence less elections will happen in J&K.
"I want to tell you that police, other forces ensured peaceful elections.I also congratulate to all those people who believe in grassroot Democracy and participated in large numbers," he said according to KNS correspondent.

He said that When he met Prime Minister Modi before coming to J&K as LG, he was told to focus on transparent, good governance, exploit potential of horticulture sector fully, provide employment to unemployed and develop J&K which has lagged behind other states.

Saying that there is no dearth of talent, he said posts including Doctors are being appointed.
" All the jobs for pandits will be fullfilled which were not fullfilled earlier"
He also said industry department is doing a great job in promoting J&K as investment destination.
"foreign Investors are interested in investment. Recently in abu Dhabi with geo tagging, demand of Saffron increased." He said, " I would like to tell that over 10 lakh farmers of Jammu and Kashmir have received financial assistance under PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme." (KNS)
