LeT condemns “inhumane” treatment to prisoners

‘Pays tribute to Jammu martyrs of 6 Nov 1947’

Srinagar, Nov 05 (KNS): Chief of Lashkar-e-Toiba, Mehmood Shah on Saturday expressed concerns and strongly condemned the “inhumane treatment of pro-freedom prisoners by the state police in various jails in Jammu and Kashmir.”
In a statement issued to KNS, he said, “This is a coward act on behalf of India. There are rights of prisoners everywhere in the world, while Indian forces are openly violating all human rights and norms.”
“Innocent prisoners of Baramulla Jail are deprived of food and medicine along with basic facilities. Many of the Kashmiris languishing in these jails are suffering from life threatening medical conditions, having no access to any treatment or medical care,” he added.
He has said that family members of jail inmates are not being allowed to meet them, adding “and severe torture is being carried out on them to subdue their desire of Kashmir's freedom. The cases of these prisoners are being shifted out of state and they are not being produced before courts for hearings.”
“This brazen atrocity and subjugation has been continuing unabated since decades, but Kashmiris have not given up their struggle, nor will they ever do that.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThis only shows the desperation, arrogance and defeat of Indian occupation,” he added.
“We have noted that Kashmiris are righting glorious history of their renewed struggle and global humanitarian organizations and international community has to play its part in pressurizing India to seize her inhuman, coward and brutal practices,” he said.
He has paid tribute to the Jammu martyrs of 6th November 1947, “who were lured by Hindu extremists and forces into believing that they were being sent to Pakistani, and were later butchered in hundreds and thousands in a single day in Jammu.”
“The blood of these martyrs will not go in vain and is not forgotten, India will have to pay the price of each martyr. Independent Human rights organizations and UN must investigate this genocide and bring the facts in front of the world,” he added. (KNS)
