Landslide damages six residential houses in Teetwal

Teetwal, April 3 (KNS): ,Two residential houses were severely damaged and four others partially today after they were hit by landslide in Gundi Gujran village of Teetwal area of Karnahin frontier district Kupwara.
The houses belong to Zameer Ahmed son of Lal din and Shakeel Ahmed son of Abdul Rehman were heavily damaged and four houses suffered minor damages due to a Landslide, BDC chairman Teetwal Nishada parveen told KNS.
"The area is prone to landslides and continuous rains and melting snow has caused the soil to loosen which endangers many residential houses in panjtara, Taad and Gundi Gujran," she said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
She further added that due to continuous threat of landslides in the the area people feel scary to sleep in their houses at night.
Asking the administration to do speedy assessment of the damages, she asked for necessary mitigation measures to prevent further damages due to continuous landslides in area. (KNS)
