Srinagar May 30:(KNS) The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Conmittee(JKPCC ) on Sunday termed the suicide by Kulgam youth as extremely shocking and unfortunate.

The Party also said the incident was bound to draw the attention of the Govt to the attitude of the officials, which was disappointing and inhuman.

Reacting to the suicide incident in Kulgam, JKPCC has lashed out at the officials responsible for withholding the salary of a teacher for about a year, as reported, which has resulted into suicide by his son after facing extreme poverty by the family.

JKPCC while expressing serious concern over this shocking incident sought action against the officials responsible and said those found involved in this particular case deserve to be prosecuted for provoking and forcing son of the teacher to commit suicide.

The Party strongly urged the LG administration to order investigation into matter to fix responsibility, subsequently urged the Govt to release the salary of all similarly situated employees working in various Govt departments to ensure that no other incident of such nature happens, JKPCC added and said the current circumstances were indeed disastrous due to the surge in Covid cases and the lockdown, which has pushed the people to wall, causing more agony and fear in their minds, which needs to be addressed rather than creating more problems for the common people as well as the employees PCC said.
