Kashmir media houses discuss prevailing "unfavorable" working environment

Sringar, Feb 27 (KNS): Kashmir based Media Houses today held an emergency meeting to discuss the unfavorable environment being created in the working of their organisations by some vested interests.


The meeting was attended by Printers, Publishers,Editors of some newspapers along with representatives of publishing houses to deliberate and discussed the issues being faced by them at Press Club today under the chairmanship of President JK Press Association (JKPA)  Ghulam Hassan Kaloo.


The meeting discussed  issue of forged signatures on letters addressed to the officers of DIPR, Statement issued to KNS said.


President JK Press Association (Prez JKPA) vehemently confirmed to participants that his signatures were forged with an motive of depriving dozens of Media Houses of their rightful means of sustenance.


 The participants unanimously rued the hasty approach of  DIPR in taking action without confirming from JKPA president, Statement said.

It is worth mentioning that the matter is already under investigation of J&K Police and much headway has reportedly been made by the investigating agencies and it is expected that the persons involved in the conspiracy shall be identified. Besides the members also appealed the Government to allow the Kashmir News Service (KNS) to resume its functioning from  its office which was locked without without any advance notice. (KNS)
