JKPM Demands Resolution of Land Ownership for Residents of SK Colony Anantnag

Anantnag, February 01:(KNS) J&K Peoples Movement has demanded immediate resolution of land ownership documents regarding residents of Sheri Kashmir Colony Anantnag.

In a press statement issued Kashmir News Service (KNS), JKPM Vice President Solicitor Syed Iqbal Tahir said that around 1975 a housing colony under the name of Sher-i-Kashmir Colony was set up in Anantnag. The housing colony was set up under the aegis of a cooperative society namely Sher-i-Kashmir Cooperative society and more than 1500 households are directly or indirectly impacted.

Iqbal Tahir further said that despite the passage of nearly 47 years, the residents have not been provided with the land ownership documents. He also said that JKPM has repeatedly highlighted this issue including filing a complaint with the LG Grievance Cell under the number 999002143199 dated 18/6/2021. But no progress has been made in the matter so far.

He alleged that various governments have ignored the genuine demands of the people of Anantnag. (KNS)
