JKPM demands Centre Govt, UT Admin to establish technical universities, Colleges in J&K

Srinagar, Nov 29 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir People's Movement Additional General Secretary Javid Ahmad urged Centre Government and LG Administration to take steps to establish Technical University and Colleges in Jammu and Kashmir for the larger interests of the students of Jammu and Kashmir.

Javid Ahmad further said that every year thousands of students of Jammu and Kashmir go outside to pursue their technical courses from different Universities across India and almost Rs. 500 to 1000 cr are being spend by those students in other States and some students get admission on scholarship basis.

“If Technical universities will be established here in J&K the outgoing money will be saved and consumed here in J&K. Centre Govt as well as LG administration should take immediate steps to Accord sanction from University Grants Commission for Technical Universities and their associate Technical Colleges in every region of Jammu and Kashmir to meet the demands of the outgoing students from various Hr Sec Schools every year who seek admission for the technical courses, as per the latest list of UGC there are 367 Universities in India in  states like AP 20, Assam 12, Bihar 12, Chatisgrah 13, Gujrat 28, Haryana 14, Jarkhand 8, Karnataka 27, Ketla 13, MP 21, MH 23, Odisa 16, Rajasthan 22, TN 22, UP 30, Uttrakhand 11 and WB 26.
