Srinagar, Jan 25 (KNS) ; Jammu and Kashmir’s Inspector General of Police (Traffic), M. Suleman Choudhary, has been awarded the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service.
The award, announced on the eve of Republic Day, underscores the challenges of managing traffic in Jammu and Kashmir where logistical snarls on the sole national highway can quickly cascade into economic distress and public unrest.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
According to officials, the honour specifically acknowledges Choudhary’s “tireless work for the welfare of commuters” and his leadership in introducing several measures to streamline traffic across the Union Territory. However, it is his role during crises on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway (NH-44) that has defined his tenure.(KNS)
