Awantipora, Nov 25 (KNS): The IRP-23rd Battalion on Monday organised an impactful Environmental Plantation Drive combined with a vibrant cultural programme at Government Boys High School Barsoo, Awantipora, under its Civic Action Programme (CAP).
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teaching staff, officials of the Forest Department, and members of the local community.
The initiative aimed at fostering environmental awareness and promoting cultural heritage among youth and residents. The plantation drive, conducted in collaboration with the Forest Department, highlighted the need for environmental conservation and encouraged the participants to contribute towards a greener future. Native saplings were planted in the school premises, with experts guiding students and staff on sustainable plantation practices and long-term tree care.
