Inam Un Nabi pays Glowing tributes to Professor Rahman Rahi terms him protector of Kashmiri Language

Srinagar January 09 (KNS):  Prominent social activist of Jammu and Kashmir Inam Un Nabi has expressed deep condolences over passing away of literary legend of Kashmir Professor Rahman Rahi and paid glowing tributes to his life journey and literary contributions.


He prayed for the departed soul and termed him as the both protector and promoter of Kashmiri Language.

Inam Un Nabi said his life is full of accolades and awards as in the year
1961, Prof Rahi was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award for his poetry collection Nawroz-i-Saba, the Padma Shri in 2000 and India’ highest literary award, the Jnanpith Award (for the year 2004) in 2007. 

Prof Rahi is the first Kashmiri writer to be awarded the Jnanpith, India’ highest literary award ,for his poetic collection “Siyah Rood Jaeren Manz” (In Black Drizzle).

He termed his death as great loss to the people of Kashmir and its literature. (KNS)
