New Delhi, Oct 20 (KNS) Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh on Tuesday undertook his final flying sortie in an IAF aircraft, flying the HJT-16 Kiran Mk-1 trainer with his first flying instructor, Wing Commander V S Kochar (Retd), the force said.
The 55-minute sortie marked the culmination of Singh's flying journey in the IAF, bringing him back to the aircraft associated with the training of generations of Indian military pilots.
The sortie was particularly significant as Singh flew in aircraft bearing tail number U 707 alongside Kochar, who had guided him during his initial days of flying training.
Singh undertook his first-ever flying sortie on January 28, 1984, and the flight on Tuesday marked a symbolic full circle in his association with flying in the IAF, according to an official statement.

With the sortie, Singh concluded a distinguished chapter of his flying career, carrying forward the experience and discipline gained over more than four decades of service, the statement said. (KNS)
