Horticulture Dept Kmr witnesses gathering of officers on the eve of release of installment of Kissan Yojna by PM

Srinagar, Dec 25 (KNS): Director Horticulture Aijaz Ahmad Bhat Friday chaired a meeting of fruit growers and threw light upon schemes implemented by the department.

According to KNS, the event was witnessed by the fruit growers of various districts particularly from Ganderbal, Srinagar and Budgam.
Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (KAS), Director Horticulture Kashmir chaired
the assembly in the event and after conclusion of the event addressed the
participants.

Pertinently the event under which Hon’ble Prime Minister was schedule to press
the button for release of ?18000 Crores under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna Scheme through online mode as an installment from Dec 2020 to Mar 2021
was witnessed in Horticulture complex Directorate of Horticulture Kashmir
Rajbagh Srinagar.

Dir Horticulture gave the brief account of all the schemes implemented by the Department of Horticulture viz.
MIDH/PMDP/CAPEX/SMAM/RKVY etc. During briefing of the schemes he gave an introduction of newly launched “Operation Greens- TOP to TOTAL”, PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) and Agriculture Infrastructure Development Fund for the information of the
farming community.

He also highlighted the role of the Department for technological interventions particularly implementation of High Density Plantation Schemes so as to boost the economic sector of the farming community. Further he added that Department is facilitating distribution of Scion Wood material for varietal improvement so that high returns are
fetched from terminal markets.

Director also emphasized that growers should
avail the facilities and the incentives for strengthening of irrigation infrastructure for mechanization under various schemes. The thrust areas will
be identified for creation irrigation infrastructure on community basis so as to minimize the cost on inputs.

As the conclusion of the event, Director Horticulture distributed the authorization letters to the identified beneficiaries from various District for the release of subsidy in their account through DBT on the creation/strengthening of post-harvest facilities like Pack Houses,
construction of vermi compost units, farm mechanization viz-a-viz tractor, motor power sprayer etc.

With these engagements during the event, Director Horticulture accorded thanks to participants who very politely and keenly remained active
participants during the entire programmer of the event organized by the
Department of Horticulture Kashmir at Rajbagh Srinagar. The event was also attended by Deputy Director, Chief Horticulture
Officers, District Officers, Farm Managers, Horticulture Information & Publication Officer, Nursery Registration Officer from Kashmir valley. (KNS)
