HFMD cases found in Srinagar schools, CEO issues advisory for students

 Srinagar, Sep 30 (KNS): The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Srinagar has issued Friday an advisory in order to prevent spreading of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) futher among the students studying in schools of Central Kashmir's Srinagar city. 



CEO Srinagar has said that cases of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease have been reported in some schools of district Srinagar. "In order to prevent spread of the disease any further, Head of Institutions of all the schools are directed to adopt the following measures with immediate effect," he said. 

 "Parents are advised not to send their wards to school with the following symptoms: Fever, Sores in Mouth, Skin rash, Sore throat, small red spots and blisters," he in an advisory message said, adding that children with above symptoms be isolated for 5-7 days post onset of the symptoms to prevent spread infection to other children or adults. 

"Educate School children about the signs, symptoms and preventive measures. Maintain hygiene in and around classrooms and ensure wearing of masks and use of sanitizers by all students and teachers. Classrooms if required are periodically sanitized," the CEO said and advised Heads of all the educational institutes to follow the above directions to prevent spread of the disease among children.(KNS).
