Restore political process, current Bureaucratic set up has failed'

Srinagar, July 11:(KNS) Jammu and Kashmir People’s Conference Senior Vice President and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil today asked the BJP led government in the centre to come clear on its plan about the future of Jammu and Kashmir.

Vakil said it has been a year that the political process in J&K has been stopped and the most of the mainstream leaders continue to remain under house arrest for none of their offence.

"What is our offence? How long this failed Bureaucratic system will continue here. You have kept the political leaders restricted to their houses. It has been a year. What democracy are you talking about?" “This is surprising till today you have not bothered to talk to the mainstream leaders who had been all along working for the national interest and many leaders and workers of different political parties even sacrificed their lives too but it is unfortunate your are not valuing it.”Vakil said .

In a statement issued to KNS, Vakil said why the political process is not started for the larger public interest.
People are suffering and crying but nobody is addressing their grievances. Tourism industry and fruit industry are the back bone of the economy of J&K but in shambles, virtually at the verge of devastation and the present Government is just like a silent spectator. If the Government would not focus its attention to revive these industries immediately lakhs of people will be deprived from livelihood, would result havoc in J&K.
"There is no one to listen to the issues of public. The system imposed on us has failed at all levels. In which democracy you keep the political leaders in lock ups for none of their fault," Vakil asked.

It has been a year since the Abrogation of Article 370, there is no word from the current regime of they have any plans to restore political process in Jammu and Kashmir. If the situation remains the same the people in large scale will get distanced from the mainstream which would not be in the interest of the nation. Vakil added.(KNS)
