Srinagar, Oct 18 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir's Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said that the government is committed to dismantle the terror eco-system while saying Killings of minorities, civilians and security forces personnel are far less than what it used to be prior to August 2019.

While addressing the book launch function in Srinagar, the LG said that those trying to disrupt peace here have committed a big mistake and that they will have to repent and repay with the interest. "Perpetrators and those aiding and abetting terrorists have made a huge mistake and they will have to pay a very heavy price for their heinous act," he said. 

The masterminds of Pulwama and Shopian attacks will be dealt with sternly. Condemns the killing of two non local labourers in south Kashmir's Shopian district, saying that security apparatus has been directed to launch coordinated counter terrorism operations. 

The LG Urges every section of society to come together in fight against terrorism; Identify those who are misguiding people and trying to disrupt the peace and development process in the UT. 

In response to the Shopian attack, the LG said hunt is on for the terrorists involved in the attack while the security apparatus has been directed to launch coordinated counter terrorism operations. "Words cannot adequately condemn today's barbaric terror attack on Manish Kumar & Ram Sagar from Kannauj, UP," he said. 

He futher said that the district administration Shopian has deputed senior officers to make arrangements for transportation of the mortal remains to their respective villages with full honours.

"We have intensified our efforts to crush terrorists and terror ecosystem and have given full freedom to the security forces," the LG said, adding that terrorism is a curse for the civilised society. "People from every community must come together to condemn heinous acts and root out terror and its elements," Manoj Sinha said. 

"Hartal days in J&K are over now and travel advisories are being lifted by foreign countries. “I want to ask those shedding crocodile tears over recent innocent killings, who was in power when the Vandhama massacre took place? Who was in power when 26 people were killed in Udhampur and 17 people were killed in Litter Pulwama? Who was ruling J&K when countless massacres of minorities and Muslims took place?," the LG questions.

The said there has been drastic reduction in the number of terror incidents. "Security forces have intensified Counter-terror operations to crush terror ecosystem. Now there are no calls for bandhs in Kashmir at the behest of neighboring country. Now a common man can earn his livelihood peacefully. We have succeeded in Choking Terror funding and recruitment to a large extent," he said.(KNS)
