Srinagar, May 20 (KNS): Former Cabinet Minister and Apni Party Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir on Thursday expressed his profound solidarity with the fire victims of Trerun and Kunzer whose houses were utterly destroyed in two different hapless fire incidents.

Two houses belonging to Abdul Rashid Wani and Abdul Qayoom Wani at Trerun were gutted down in a blaze while the house of Mohammad Jameel at Mengerpora-Kunzer was also destroyed in a similar inferno.

In a statement issued here to the Kashmir news service (KNS), Mir demanded that the fire victims must be provided with a temporary shelter in any nearby government accommodation, so as to mitigate the sufferings of these deserving families.

“The administration must ensure that a temporary accommodation is accorded in favour of these families, keeping in view the current situation of the pandemic until their residences are reconstructed,” he demanded.

He also urged the administration to dispatch assessment teams on ground zero at Trerun and Kunzer in order to take cognizance of the situation and release the requisite ex-gratia in their favour.

“I urge the administration to help these families who have lost everything in this unfortunate fire incident and make proper assessments of the damage done so that appropriate compensation be delivered to them as soon as possible,” Mir urged.(KNS)
