Expresses concern over high prices of essential commodities and unscheduled power cuts

Sopore April 5 (KNS)J&K Peoples Conference Sr. Vice President and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil said unscheduled power cuts and the prices of all essential commodities are on the rise and have aggravated woes of people. Abdul Gani Vakil today while visiting several villages including Tujar Sharief, Shutloo in Rafiabad and Tarzoo, Baba Raza in Sopore.

Abdul Gani Vakil expressed concern over the power crisis scenario and said despite a load-shedding schedule announced by the government, unscheduled and frequent power cuts continue unabated in the holy month of Ramadan especially in Sopore and Rafiabad.
 
Vakil exhorted the UT government to take immediate measures to tackle power crisis in the valley and implement its own schedule in letter and spirits So that people do not suffer in the holy month of Ramadan.
Vakil also expressed concern over the high prices of day today needs especially mutton, vegetables etc and urged the administration to ensure that items are being sold at rates fixed by admin as the people are already suffering due to inflation.
 
During his visit Abdul Gani Vakil also visited several families who lost their loved ones recently offered condolences and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families. He was accompanied by Sr. PC leaders including Bashir Ahmad Dar, Muzzafar Naikoo, Junaid Sopori and several others.  (KNS)
