Srinagar, Sep 06 (KNS): A delegation from the Shaheed Singhs Welfare Organization, Chittisinghpora, led by its Chairman S. Jagjeet Singh, met Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today to raise concerns over the massacre of 35 Sikhs by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists on March 20, 2000, in Anantnag.
The delegation urged the administration to conduct a fresh inquiry into the incident and sought justice for the families of the martyred civilians. They also highlighted several welfare demands, including compassionate appointments under SRO-43, equal benefits for next of kin like those provided to non-migrant Kashmiri Pandits, reservation in educational institutions, and financial assistance to build a memorial at Chittisinghpora.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Responding to the delegation, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring justice for families affected by terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He assured that a detailed investigation will be carried out and all grievances will be addressed with sensitivity and priority.
The LG also confirmed that eligible family members would be provided compassionate appointments and financial assistance for self-employment to support their rehabilitation.(KNS)
