Srinagar, Sept19 (KNS) : Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Saturday said that the existing reservation policy in Jammu and Kashmir is unjust and needs to be reviewed and rationalised.
In a statement issued, He said that there is a need for a judicious reservation policy based on the population ratio to ensure fair and equitable representation of different sections of society.
He was speaking after inaugurating an exhibition at a hotel in Srinagar. Several young entrepreneurs and exhibitors from Srinagar and other parts of the country have set up stalls at the exhibition, showcasing a variety of products, primarily handicrafts and jewellery items.
Asked by reporters to comment on the existing reservation policy in J&K, Altaf Bukhari said, “I believe the existing reservation policy is not judicious and needs to be reviewed and rationalised.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelMy stand on the reservation issue is clear: reservation should be based on population, ensuring fair and equitable representation of different sections of society.”
Speaking about the exhibition, the Apni Party President said, “I was pleased to see young exhibitors from Srinagar, Jammu, Delhi and Punjab participating in this event. Such initiatives send a strong message of national integration and provide a valuable platform for us to showcase our products and talent.”
