Srinagar July (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah paid glowing tributes to Former MLA Kulgam, Shaheed Advocate Ghulam Nabi Dar sahib on his 16th death anniversary; Dar had lost his life along with five other NC workers in a grenade blast at Kulgam in July 2006.

Party president while paying glowing tributes to the late leader said, “An honest politician, an accomplished advocate, Dar Sahib was a sincere soldier of the party. He had dedicated his life for the socio-political emancipation of the downtrodden people of his constituency. He shall be remembered for his industrious and undemanding personality. Politics for him was a medium to serve people, lend voice to people and give support to the deprived; there is great necessity of such men in public life and politics. On this day I pay my glowing tributes to him. May the Almighty grant him the highest place in Jannat,"he said. 

Party vice president in his message applauded the role played by the Late Dar Sahib in the development of his constituency. “The jinxed fate of our state snatched a committed and an ace political figure from us in his shape. On this day I pay my glowing tributes to him,” he said.

Meanwhile a commemorative function was organised at Rest House Chawalgam, Kulgam in which party’s South Zone President Dr Bashir Veeri, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, District President Kulgam Ab Majeed Larmi addressed the gathering. Party leaders Safdar Ali Khan, Advocate Abdul Rahman Tantray, Bashir Naik, Block Presidents, YNC functionaries, Chairman Municipal council Muneeb Ahmed Zargar, Vice Chairman Sareer Ah Sheikh were also present. Earlier the leaders visited the late leader's graveyard and offered floral tributes and recited fateha. 

On the occasion party President Dr Farooq Abdullah addressed the functionaries through a telephonic call in which he paid glowing tributes to the late leader. It is germane to mention that the administration had not granted permission to hold commemorative function, where party president Dr Farooq Abdullah, General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, MP Masoodi, Sakina Itoo and Provincial Functionaries were likely to offer tributes to the late leader.  

Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Senior leaders Abdul Rahim Rather, Mohammad Shafi Uri, Mubarak Gul, Sakina Itoo, Ghulam Ahmed Shah, Party’s Members of Parliament Muhammad Akbar Lone, and (retd) Justice Hasnain Masoodi; district president Altaf Ahmad Wani, Provincial Vice President Ahsan Pardesi, YNC Provincial President Salman Ali Sagar, Social Media in charge Sarah Hayat Shah have also paid glowing tributes to the late leader and prayed for peace to his soul. Among other party’s south parent body functionaries, YNC functionaries have also paid glowing tributes to the late leader recounting his immense contribution towards the development of Kulgam.(KNS)
