Srinagar April 02 (KNS): Chairperson of J & K Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi has extended Ramazan greetings to all. She has also wished the people a happy Saptrishi New Year. Ramazan, Navreh & Navratra festivities together endorse our belief that diversity of humanity needs to be respected. “Let us join hands in prayer and express our gratitude to God for bestowing his love on us all. Let us also dedicate ourselves to the spirit of co-existence, peace and spirituality on these pious occasions,” said Dr Darakhshan Andrabi. She appealed to the concerned government departments to ensure uninterrupted electricity & water supply during the month of fasting & penance so that people don’t suffer. I have taken up the issues related to the supplies of essential commodities and services with the government and I have been assured that arrangements are in place & people will not have any difficulty. “Let us all pray for the peace in J&K so that the drastically torn fabric of communal brotherhood is restored and all horrors of the past are wiped away from our consciences,” said Dr Andrabi. She reiterated her commitment to ensure that soon people of J&K will notice very positive changes in the Waqf Management in J&K so that the faith is restored. She appealed to the religious leaders to take up the issues related to drug menace, violence, criminality from the religious places so that impressive counselling is done to save our generations to come from the grave situations we are in. She also reminded the civil society to take up these issues for public awareness and prove now that they are not remote controlled groups who speak on political issues only.(KNS)
