Srinagar Apr 15 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah on Saturday paid glowing tributes to party veteran, former MLA Bijbehara, former Minster and a political stalwart from South Kashmir Khawaja Abdul Gani Shah Veeri on his 8th death anniversary.
Late Veeri Sahib represented Bijbehara constituency for three consecutive terms and was closely associated with Sher- e- Kashmir, said the Party President while offering tributes to the late leader on his death anniversary. “He played a pioneering role in the struggle against oppression. He was at an early age introduced to the ideals of democracy and justice and was deeply attached to the ideals of the National Conference. A mass leader late Veeri sahib will be remembered for dedication towards the party, for his connection with grass root level workers, and common people for whom he worked tirelessly. I pay my earnest tributes to him on his death anniversary. May Almighty grant him the highest stations in Jannah.”
Party Vice President Omar Abdullah while paying tributes to the late party veteran said, “He worked for the upliftment of downtrodden, and other weaker sections of the society. A close associate of Sher -e-Kashmir, Late Veeri Sahib is still esteemed by one and all on the basis of developmental works he carried out not just in Bijbehara but in the entire south Kashmir. I pay my tributes to the late leader, may Almighty grant him highest echelons in Jannah.”
