Director Horticulture Visits Centre of Excellence Zawoora 

Srinagar, 05 April (KNS) : Director Horticulture Kashmir Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (KAS) on monday paid a visit to Centre of Excellence Zawoora alongwith Chief Horticulture officer Srinagar and other field officers.

In a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) that reads, Director while visiting Centre of Excellence issued instructions to the Chief Horticulture officer concerned that he will ensure to monitor all the developmental activities personally which are being carried out at COE and the walnut nursery at Zawoora Srinagar for its timely commissioning and utility of the services which are being established as per the objectives of the
COE. 

Director while visiting the COE added that there should no any
encroachment on Government land. 

Further while discussing the developmental activities with the officers onspot Director was optimistic that the Centre of Excellence will be opened for the fruit growers of J&K as an on farm school so that the activities which are being carried out at COE are taken to the farmers field precisely as per the technology developed and adopted at the Centre.

Centre of Excellence has been established with an aim to improve the production/productivity including the quality parameters of the various fruit crops grown under our valley conditions with the adoption latest techniques which are being demonstrated at the Centre.

Further the Director was of the opinion that our Department will keep the COE open for the interested Entrepreneurs, schools,colleges and ITI trainees, so that the visitors are exposed to new technological tools for their adoption and dissemination in the field.(KNS)
