Dir. Horticulture holds meeting, reviews stock of developmental activities

Srinagar 05 February (KNS): Director Horticulture Kashmir, Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (KAS) on Friday
convened a review meeting at Directorate of Horticulture Kashmir to take stock of
all developmental activities being undertaken in the field.


During the meeting, the achievement/progress under all schemes was
discussed in detail with the District Heads. The Director called on all the District
Heads to pull the expenditure and to speed up execution of works in respect of
major schemes viz. CAPEX/PMDP/MIDH/RKVY/SMAM/ATMA and ensure 100%
utilization of funds within the stipulated period of time.


 Director Horticulture exhorted upon the District Officers to work out well
laid goals, make collective plans in coordination with this Directorate for benefit of
farmers. He instructed all District Heads to identify the more area under High
density plantation in apple crops as Horticulture fetch more returns to the growers
as compared to agriculture crops and it also provides employment to the local

among growers through different mediums related to benefits under the newly
launched Schemes viz. “Operation Greens- Top to Total” and PM Formalization of
Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) as a part of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat
Abhiyan’ and registration process in this regard be taken up on war footing basis.


 All the Chief Horticulture Officers were given instructions to strengthen
their public sector nurseries so as to produce quality planting material and
distribution of quality fruit plants under Backyard Horticulture Scheme should be
made available to maximum eligible households.


 The meeting was attended by Deputy Director, all Chief Horticulture
Officers, Farm Manager-Zainapora, Nursery Registration Officer and Horticulture
Information & Publication Officer of Kashmir Division.(KNS)
