DG Horticultural distributes Nursery cards among growers

 

Srinagar, Nov 11 (KNS): Director General Horticulture, Aijaz Ahmed Bhat, Kashmir on Thursday distributed Nursery Registration Cards among a number of Nursery Growers of the Valley. A function in this behalf was organized at Nursery Registration Office, Srinagar, in which apart from many officers/officials of the Department many nursery growers of the valley participated.

Speaking on the occasion Director General said that keeping in view the high demand of fruit plants, many people have opted to establish fruit plant nurseries and the Department is expecting more than 300 nursery registration during the current year. On the occasion he highlighted the importance of nursery development and urged upon the growers to produce best quality fruit plants of latest varieties. He further said that the growers should adopt latest techniques for better production with minimum inputs. Pertinent to mention that the Department has recently launched a Nursery Development Scheme and while referring to the said scheme, Director General urged the farmers to adopt the scheme.

At the end the growers expressed their gratitude about the hassle free process of nursery Registration and appreciated the record registration of nurseries with the Department during the current year. (KNS)
