Srinagar, Mar 12 (KNS): in wake of coronavirus threat a three days Intensive drive has been initiated in Handwara and adjoining areas by Drug Control Officer Handwara alongside Executive Members of Chemists and Druggists Association Handwara, educating chemists, whole sale drug distributors and patients on importance of self hygiene and necessary precautions that should be taken to fight the pandemic of COVID 19. The Corona virus and following instructions were passed in door to door drive making sure that the compliance is met at highest level.
Instructions are as under:-
1. Use of gloves & face masks in the premises.

3. Do not dispense the prescription unless hands of the patients are properly sanitized with Alcohol sprit or effective sanitizer.
4. Frequently sanitize the dispensing desk.
5. Keeping proper heating arrangements at safer distance from medicine.
6. Create a physical barrier between the patient & pharmacist, as pharmacist is at higher risk.
7. Always purchase sanitizers/ face masks from reputed suppliers with proper invoices & avoid profiteering.
8. Keep a lozeng in the mouth.
As a good will gesture face masks were also distributed to the general public and some serving police men in the area free of cost.
