CLUJ marks martyrs day

 Jammu March 23:(KNS)  Department of Students Welfare , Cluster University of Jammu conducted an online Symposia Competition to Commemorate Shaheed Diwas under the patronage of Prof. Bechan Lal , Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu to pay homage to our freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, who laid down their lives on March 23, 1931 during the struggle for India Independence. The topic of the contest was Martyrs Day: A tribute to freedom fighters wherein 10 participants from the Constituent Colleges and PGI Schools expressed their enthusiastic and potent ideas on the topic in English, Hindi and Urdu. Shaheed Diwas is an endeavour to pay homage to our heroes who fought with bravery and valour  for India’s Independence.  Prof. Bhopinder Singh, Dean Academic Affairs , CLUJ was the special Invitee at the Symposia Competition. He reiterated that these freedom fighters carved out their own path for independence where individual heroism and their aggressive need to do something for the Nation stood out and  inspired countless youth.  Dr. Banpreet Kour, Associate Dean, Students Welfare formally welcomed the guests, Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare and exhorted the students to follow the path of our extraordinary heroes who sacrificed their lives defending the sovereignty of nation were pioneers who fought for the freedom, glory, welfare and progress of India. She also called upon the young learners to renew committment towards building a united strong, prosperous and inclusive nation.  Dr. Shivani Suri Verma, GCW Parade and Dr. Piyush Kant Sharma, GDC Akhnoor were the jury members for the contest. They lauded the views of the participants and shared their observations and suggestions to the students about their need to imbibe the ideals and values shown by these exemplary freedom icons. Dr. Kuldeep Raina, Cultural Coordinator gave the formal vote of thanks . Prof. Archana Koul, Chairperson , Campus Cultural Committee , Dr. Revika Arora , Cultural Coordinator, CLUJ and Assistant Deans, Dr. Geetanjli Rajput, , Dr. Maansi Sharma, Prof.  Sudesh Kumar and Prof. Shamim Rather were present on the occasion.

 Akshit Raina, Govt. MAM College bagged the first position while Ivanka Raman from GCW Gandhi Nagar secured the second position.  Ravinder Rao Govt. College of Education and Harsh Amla from SPMR College of Commerce shared the third prize .(KNS)
